The air raid shelter that saved Ramsgate
A Victorian railway tunnel leads to the largest civiliam air raid shelter in the UK. Guided tours take visitors on a journey of discovery on the history of Ramsgate's railways and the wartime trole of both the railway tunnel and the purpose built air raid precaution system, which saved countless lives during World War 2., and became home to over 1,000 local residents.
