Kingsdown in White Cliffs Country was once a fishing village and lies between the White Cliffs to the north of Dover and the southern stretch of Walmer and Deal.

With a pretty pebbly beach that’s popular with all family members (including the four-legged ones!) Kingsdown is located on the South Foreland Heritage Coast, and the countryside around the village within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - a nationally important protected landscape.

If you’re looking for refreshment, Kingsdown won’t disappoint you with its three pubs - The Kings Head, The Rising Sun and, located on the beach itself, The Zetland Arms. At Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club, known as The Club On The Cliffs, you can tee off on the world-famous White Cliffs of Dover and enjoy beautiful views out to France.

Kingsdown is also assumed to be the setting for Ian Fleming's 1955 novel, “Moonraker”. It is here - 'on the edge of the cliffs between Dover and Deal' - that Sir Hugo Drax is building the Moonraker, an atomic rocket. And it is here that James Bond is sent to investigate. Why not follow in 007’s footsteps and visit for yourself?
