Uniquely situated in a dramatic clifftop position with spectacular views over Bridlington and set in 50 acres of early 19th Century parkland, Sewerby Hall and Gardens offers something for everyone, from the magnificent gardens to the deep rooted heritage
Take a trip back to the early 1900s to see how the house would have looked. The exciting exhibition and events programme has something for the whole family. The zoo is the place to keep the children amused, housing a fascinating collection of mammals and birds. Our children’s adventure playground has an exciting nautical theme which will appeal to children of all ages.
The Clock Tower Café serves a wide range of hot and cold food including freshly ground coffee, daily specials, homemade scones and flapjack, cakes, sandwiches and soup. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are also available.
The house and estate are disabled-friendly and there are a small amount of parking bays for blue badge holders. There are some steps around the estate especially on the Woodland Walk where the path is surfaced with bark chippings. Alternate access routes are clearly sign-posted.
To enjoy the house and grounds to their fullest, visitors with walking difficulties may need to consider bringing their own mobility aids. Please be aware that the pathway from the car park to the house has a slight incline and is approximately 200 metres long.
Disabled access to the house itself is at the rear of the building through the courtyard and there is a lift to all floors. Due to conservation issues motorised wheelchairs, buggies or scooters are not permitted in the house or the first floor of the Old Laundry Block. We have a small amount of hand-pushed wheelchairs for use inside and these are available on a first come, first served basis.
