Fresh lobsters can be bought in Runswick Bay directly from the local fisherman when in season or in nearby Staithes at the local fish market. The local pub - The Royal Hotel offers traditional Fish & Chips. Runswick Bay has its own inshore rescue boat. Aligned to the RNLI the volunteer crew of Runswick Bay Rescue Boat train twice weekly in season and are there to assist the main RNLI crews, Lifeguards and the Coastguard. Watch them train on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Fundraising events are held to help support the crew and the vital service throughout the year
