A beautiful inn overlooking the Teign Estuary
The original Ness House in Shaldon was built in 1810 as the summer home of the Clifford family and rumour has it that the family subsequently enlarged their fortune through smuggling, via the smugglers tunnel just behind the pub. Named after the ‘Ness’ rocky outcrop that towers over it, the pub is a Grade II listed inn with 9 bedrooms, a beautiful terrace and cosy interior, located on the South West Coast Path and boasting stunning views over the Teign Estuary.
