Over 100 years of teddies at this enchanting museum with charming displays in a delightful vintage setting

Over 100 years of teddies! Charming displays in a delightful vintage setting take you to a time gone by. An unmissable and enchanting experience for the young and young at heart!

The Teddy Bear Museum’s ever growing collections of teddy bears encompasses bears from the very earliest to modern favourites. From antique and vintage bears dating from as early as 1906 to individually crafted designer bears by internationally renowned artists of the late 20th century.

There are important vintage bears from the earliest prototypes by The Ideal Toy Company, as well as Steiff, Farnell, Merrythought, Deans, Chiltern, vintage Chad Valley and many others.

The collection also includes a unique group of specially commissioned replicas of the world’s most famous and valuable bears that have achieved world record-breaking prices at auction.

There are numerous bears of all shapes and sizes on show in the museum from throughout the hundred year history of the teddy bear, right up to artist bears and award winners of today. Famous bears such as Rupert Bear, Sooty, Winnie the Pooh, Paddington Bear and Aunt Lucy are also present, as are many TV favourites as well as a popular collection of much-loved stars and celebearties from movies, television, books and comics.

The museum is set in the ‘home’ of Edward Bear, which has a charming Edwardian feel to it. Edward Bear is a human sized teddy bear who, with his extended family of people size bears, have been avid teddy bear collectors!
