Durdle Door is a spectacular rock arch best viewed from the South West Coast Path just west of Lulworth Cove.

Durdle Door on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset is probably the most famous stone arch anywhere in the world, and certainly one of England's must visit landmarks. It was created when the sea pierced through the Portland limestone around 10,000 years ago. Looking west over the beach, isolated stacks out at sea show where an older coastline once lay. The rock feature of Durdle Door is around 200 feet tall, so get ready to be impressed!

In the summer months you can swim on the beach but be careful, the beach shelves steeply in places and there are no lifeguards. With this in mind please supervise children. 

Dogs are allowed on the beach at Durdle Door year round, but do pick up after them and keep our coastline clean :)

Durdle Door is best accessed by car, for public transport try the X54 bus which runs from Poole bus station to Weymouth, stopping at Wareham station, Wool station, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Osmington Village. The best postcode to use is BH20 5PU. 

Walking and Parking at Durdle Door

Durdle Door can be accessed by the South West Coast path, a short and beautiful walk from Lulworth Cove where there is ample parking. Alternatively you can park at the Durdle Door Holiday Park carpark, located on the cliff above Durdle Door beach.
