Bygones Entry Discount
Bringing the past alive! Three floors of pure nostalgia for any age.
Wander back in time, starting towards the end of Queen Victoria’s reign. Visit our authentic life-size Victorian Street, see the Blacksmith hard at work, smell the treats of the Sweetshop, listen to the hustle and bustle of Victorian life. Imagine yourself in the nursery, kitchen, parlour or even the dentist!
As you meander up to the top floor, hop on the 27-ton steam engine en route! See the wartime evacuees waiting on the platform with gas mask, minimal luggage in tow and knowing little of what to expect.
Arrive in the 20thCentury, take a break in our Station Café for a range of cakes and refreshments.
Marvel over our completely refurbished model railway themed around English villages in WWI and WWII. Consider your ancestors in a WWI trench or taking cover in a WWII Anderson Shelter.
Don’t miss the 1950’s and 60’s shopping arcade filled with post-war packaging and household items.
We have a souvenir gift shop selling confectionary, traditional toys & games, retro items and even popular merchandise including Harry Potter and Game of Thrones! Please see our website for the online shop!
The main question we are asked is how we managed to get the steam engine inside! You’ll have to come in to Bygones to find out!
A completely unique venue for Birthday parties (child or adult!), corporate events and group and bespoke guided tours.
We love doggie friends and welcome well behaved dogs throughout Bygones. Dogs must be accompanied by an adult and on a lead. Restrictions apply in the cafe.
Is Bygones accessible for disabled visitors?
We do not have lift access due to it being a 1920s building however we welcome everyone to Bygones. There are hand rails on all the stairs and seats along the way. We offer a ground floor rate to disabled visitors and registered carers. Guide dogs are permitted in the museum. Please phone 01803 326108 for further details.
