Friendly, comfortable and well-appointed guest house, ideally located for touring the Jurassic Coast
Our friendly guest house is located in a quiet area of the historic county town of Dorchester, with excellent road and rail links, and easy access to the Jurassic Coast, South West Coast Path and South Coast Cycle Route. We are known for our friendly welcome, comfortable rooms and big local breakfasts! We can offer cycle storage and wet clothes drying facilities for walkers and cyclists. Many of our guest rooms have views to the South Dorset Ridgeway and Maiden Castle, Europe's largest iron age hill fort. Dorchester is a compact but well-appointed town with a wide range of places to eat and drink, and a good mix of local and national shops. It was a Roman town, and is home to a number of museums, including the Dorset County Museum, with its Jurassic Coast gallery. The author, Thomas Hardy, was born and lived in Dorchester, and two of his former homes are open to view. Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach and West Bay are all within 20 minutes drive. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
