Beach Check UK is an innovative new app which allows visitors to check the status of a beach before visiting in order to avoid congested beaches and to encourage them to discover nearby beaches that are quieter and less crowded. The free-of-charge app has just launched in Hayling Island, Hampshire, West Wittering, West Sussex, Camber Sands and Bexhill Beach, East Sussex, and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole on the UK’s south coast, as well as various other destinations around the UK.
England’s Creative Coast launched today with a digital launch event hosted by lead partner Turner Contemporary. This ambitious project spans the dramatic Essex, Kent and East Sussex coastlines, offering visitors a new outdoor cultural experience that innovatively connects art with landscape, local stories with international perspectives, and crosses between physical and digital realms.
An iconic part of the British seaside, dating back to the early 19th century, piers have been a seaside success story since the Victorian era - a unique heritage and tourism asset in our coastal towns. With more than 50 from which to choose (more than one for every week of the year…), England’s Coast, a new coastal booking and inspiration tool, invites us all to celebrate and explore these iconic structures when we can once more travel and escape to the coast.
