Redcar Kite Festival returns to Majuba Beach on 14-15 June! This free, family-friendly event features giant kites soaring on sea breezes, creating a spectacular display of colour and movement.
Once again, Redcar’s skies will come alive as some of the world’s largest and most spectacular kites take flight. Watch in awe as the wind off the sea sends these giant inflatables, stunt kites, and rainbow deltas soaring in a mesmerizing display of colour and movement.

Beyond the skies, enjoy free workshops in Marquees-by-the-Sea, featuring kite making, science fun, and creative crafts.
Magical Walkabout Performers - Look out for Cali & Mali, the friendly stilt-walking octopi, and Captain Barnacle. Spot Captain Monty Montague and his water-skiing wife, Minty, and don’t miss Nimbus & Cumulus, the Cloud Travellers, gliding through the festival with music and dance.
And finally enjoy a full music programme and a street food market featuring delicious treats from local and regional vendors who will be serving up everything from gourmet burgers to sweet treats.

The Outdoor Theatre Season kicks off in June with live performances of Pride and Prejudice, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the gritty, thought provoking Biting Point.Food lovers can indulge in the Saltburn Food Festival in July, celebrating the best of local and regional cuisine.
For families, Between the Tides, Redcar’s free outdoor festival - offers a spectacular mix of street theatre, puppetry, circus, dance, storytelling, and music.
Beyond the events, Redcar Beach & Esplanade is perfect for a classic seaside day out, with mini-golf, play areas, and delicious ice cream by the coast and don’t forget to visit the worlds oldest surviving lifeboat at Zetland Lifeboat Museu.
