Unmissable attractions include Dover Castle, which chronicles more than 2000 years of English history and offers an incredible experience for visitors, as do the impressive Tudor castles at Deal and Walmer. Richborough Roman Fort, near Sandwich, is where the Romans began their invasion of Britain and you’ll find the oldest boat in the world in the Bronze Age Boat Gallery at Dover Museum.

Nearby St Margaret’s Bay is home to the South Foreland Lighthouse and the closest pub to France. Spend time in Sandwich, the most complete medieval town in England – take a boat trip along the River Stour and climb St Peter’s Tower for amazing views across the rooftops and surrounding countryside.

The area is known as Kent’s Golf Coast with its three championship links courses at Prince’s, Royal St George’s and Royal Cinque Ports, and a clifftop course at Walmer and Kingsdown where you’ll have views across the Channel to France on a clear day.

With Wingham Wildlife Park, Whitemills Wake and Aqua Park, Roman Landings Adventure Golf and more, there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained.

It’s easy to understand why the area is loved by walkers, cyclists, golfers, families and friends and four-legged companions as a great place to visit all year round. Whenever you visit and whatever you do while you’re here, we’re confident you’ll have a wonderful time.
