Discover what lurks beneath the waves at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum. Or take a tour on Britain’s only surviving WW2 ocean-going sub. Ramp up the action with a visit to Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower stashed with weaponry used throughout the centuries.

Fans of James Bond need to head to the Museum of Diving to discover equipment used in the films, chat to the knowledgeable staff, this award-winning museum has one of the best collections of diving equipment in Europe. There are further Bond connections at the Hovercraft Museum, the Hovercraft has featured in Die Another Day, Top Gear and Scrapheap Challenge.

If maritime history leaves you cold, head over to the Little Woodham 1642 Living History Village to encounter ‘villagers’ robed in period costumes, chat with a blacksmith potter, lace-makers and weavers, take the family on the second Saturday of the month, open from April to October.

Want to get out on the water? Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent are perfect for a sailing or water sports holiday.
