Visit the picturesque Lulworth Cove with it’s tranquil blue waters, perfect for a family day out on the Jurassic Coast, Dorset.

Lulworth Cove is a stunning almost circular cove, formed by geological processes millions of years ago, the Cove and surrounding coastline are part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. 

Walking around Lulworth Cove 

Start your visit at the great Lulworth Cove Visitor Centre to learn more about the cove and how it was formed, as well as interesting geological features nearby like the epic Stair Hole and Durdle Door. 

You can then walk down onto the beach which is usually very sheltered and perfect for a quick swim! You could then follow the South West Coast path in either direction, walk west and pass Stair Hole in the direction of Durdle Door. If you walk east from Lulworth Cove you will find the secluded and wild Mupe Bay, be aware that Mupe Bay is in the ‘Lulworth Range’ which is Ministry of Defence Land, so you will need to check online that it is open and accessible. 

In Lulworth there are various places to eat, a pub, a number of b&b’s and holiday cottages.

How to get to Lulworth Cove

Lulworth Cove is best accessed by car, for public transport try the X54 bus which runs from Poole bus station to Weymouth, stopping at Wareham station, Wool station, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Osmington Village.
