On completion, the England Coast Path will be the longest managed and way-marked route in the world. Whether you're after a gentle stroll, a cliff-top ramble or to promenade along the beach, our national walking trails pass through some of the most stunning and diverse landscapes in England.
Book a few days exploring the north-west, encountering castles and historic villages or spot seals and wildlife on an east coast break - this seaboard's diversity offers the variety of everything from an easy two-mile walk to an audacious 630-mile adventure when the Path is fully complete.
However large sections of the Path are already fully open with well-signed routes; pull on your walking boots and travel across beaches, dunes, clifftops and seaside towns and villages the length and breadth of the coast.
Voted some of the best walking routes in the world, parts of the coastal path are truly magnificent, providing walkers with the chance to spot sea-birds and enjoy wildlife in meadows, mud-flats and marshes that can only be seen on foot.

The National Trail network offers walkers well-signed, dedicated paths to explore the coastline, simply follow the acorn!
With lots of easy access points and transport to connect your journey, you could choose to go for a short stroll along the coast, dip in and out of sections of the coast path or enjoy a complete walking itinerary over several days.
Take a reviving break at one of the many welcoming cafes, pubs and accommodation providers en route. Stop, rest, meet the locals and take in the view!
